With a name like Seager, I guess it was always predestined that I would be a child of the tide. My mum made sure that my early years were spent running carefree on the beaches of her native North Devon, surfing the waves - and the sand dunes, with our wooden belly boards until our thighs were worn red against the grain and our backs browned by the sun. Without those early memories and the strong connection to the heartbeat of the Atlantic, I don't think I would have survived
