I don't know about you, but my world seems to consist of a daily onslaught of buzzing technology, deadlines and a hectic, fast-paced online reality. It's exhausting isn't it. We can never keep up. And yet, amidst all this stress, maniac wars and cortisol driving complications, I've notices that people are turning to Nature and rediscovering a profound healing power that has long since been forgotten.
And I've experienced this power firsthand. I first became interested in nutrition when I underwent my first real burnout in 2003. I was working long hours at a corporate and going through a painful divorce. I existed on alcohol and fast food to numb the fear but my spirit died, body crumbled and it felt like my lifeforce had been turned off. I turned to an enlightened Nutrition Therapist for advice and suddenly a whole new world opened up to me. A light came on inside me again and as I regained my health, I started my lifelong journey into holistic living and the importance of nutrition. Quite simply we are what we eat. Eat live food and you will be alive. I became a nutrition therapist, qualified as a Metabolic Type nutrition advisor and now a Naturopath so I've experienced first hand how guiding individuals back to their nutrition roots - quite literally, can have a profoundly positive effect on their health.

So, what is Naturopathy? Well at its core, is a simple holistic approach to health. Naturopaths recognise that the body has an innate ability to heal itself once it is given the right environment, nutrients, and care. Therefore, as a practitioner, I guide my clients on their own personalised health journey, often starting with something as simple as their daily food choices.
"Food is medicine" is a now a common mantra in my world because I honestly believe that each bite we take carries the potential for vitality or imbalance. In Naturopathy, we explore how organic, whole foods deliver vital nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that modern foods often lack. By encouraging balance through mindful eating, vibrant herbs, and natural supplements, we can empower ourselves to thrive. By supporting our body in this way, we provide it with correct environment to enable it's systems to do what they are designed to do - maintain a healthy 'homeostatis'. This strengthens and nurtures our immune systems and optimises all metabolic processes.
It's simple - we are nature, and so nature has provided us with everything we need to thrive.
Herbs, for example, are really Nature’s medicine cabinet. From calming chamomile to energising ginseng, these plants offer gentle yet profound support. As an aromatherapist, my other core go to are aromatherapy oils as they engage our senses to soothe stress, invigorate clarity or support healing and balance. When clients tell me how a few drops of lavender transform their sleep, or clary sage helps with hormonal problems, I know we’re tapping into something ancient and essential.
Being a Naturopath is immensely rewarding. We aren’t just treating symptoms; we’re listening to what your body is telling you and nurturing a partnership with Nature to really getting to the core of the problem. In a world where we're bombarded by instant fixes, it's great to give people the tools that will sustain their long-term wellness. It’s about balance and honouring the body’s rhythms, reconnecting to the planet’s gifts, and the wisdom that resides within each of us.
So, if you’re on a path of personal discovery, whether as a client seeking balance or a fellow practitioner, welcome ... its great to have you alongside. I believe that Naturopathy is a beacon, reminding us that Nature has always been, and will always be, our greatest ally in health. I'm honoured to walk this path with you.
